The University of Akron Gender Research Team is conducting several studies that will contribute to our understanding of gender roles. This study is called Conformity to Masculine Norms. The purpose of this research project is to develop a new short form of the Conformity to Masculine Norms Inventory (CMNI), which measures the degree to which individuals, both men and women, conform to a set of traditional masculine norms. We will also investigate some technical aspects of the CMNI, including variance composition, measurement invariance, and construct validity. Take a 30 minute online survey. After the survey is completed, you will be able to enter our raffle for a chance to win one of several $50 gift cards.
Participation in this study is entirely voluntary and you may refuse to participate or discontinue answering questions at any time without penalization. Data collection will be entirely anonymous. You will be directed to another website where you will enter identifying information in order to enter the raffle but the researchers will not be able to link that information to any particular survey responses, maintaining confidentiality. All responses to measures will be confidential and will not be traceable back to the individual. Records of this study will be kept private. Any published results will not contain personally identifiable information and your name will not be associated to any of the data.
If you have any questions about this study, you may contact the investigator, Dr. Ronald Levant ( show contact info
